A Belgian-French team of paleontologists have discovered a new dinosaur in southern France. What makes these dinosaurs so unusual is that their teeth seems to function like scissors. Koen Stein, postdoctoral researcher at the VUB and study co-author, noticed that these teeth are very large. “Its teeth operated like self-sharpening, serrated scissors. They have ridged surfaces but are only covered with a thick enamel layer on one side. Chewing actually keeps the teeth sharp,” Stein said.
