When looking ahead, seeing all kind of wonderful activities to participate in, one could easily loose his way. Therefore, we offer you an overview of the most interesting activities in the semester to come. Make sure to jot them down in your agenda: forewarned is forearmed.
 

February

 
5 February: Re-opening of the VUB swimming pool, till tenth of February exclusive for schools, VUB-personnel and students. Be clever and buy the cheaper ten – or more sessions pass.
 
10 February: Chinese New Year. Aula Q and the Mandela hall. The Chinese Spring Festival Gala is organised by the Chinese Students and Scholars' Association of Brussels for Chinese students, scholars and everyone who wants to celebrate. The programme includes a Chinese dinner with dumplings (5 euro/pp). After dinner, you can enjoy a live performance by a selection of student artists.
 
12 February: start of the second term and thus the start of the language tables in the restaurant: French, Spanish, German, Italian, Dutch and even English can be practiced during lunch, every day another language on your plate.
 
13 & 14 February: The reputed re-opening parties in the first week: 13 February, BSG-hall; and 14 February, the other St.V. in the BOJ-hall (Brussels Health Campus).
 
15 February: The Brussels Student DJ Contest, rebaptized as BXL SDC. First of four preliminary rounds at Complex, VUB main campus. Enjoy the best student dee-jays from all Dutch and thus English speaking higher education institutions. And cheer for the VUB finalist in April.
 
19 February starts the VUB student week. The Student Council makes it clear how and why you too should participate in the policy of our University. 2 events you really should attend.
 

 

  • VUBrusselt in the Tentation on the 22nd, starts at 16h30, a city game, after work drinks, speeches and a party till the last night bus leaves.

 

March

19-23 March:  a whole week about enlightenment, keep an eye on the website for the complete programme, now under construction.  Most of the activities will be in Dutch, but you will certainly meet someone who is willing to translate. The same week the architecture students will do their things in U-Square, the barracks in front of the railway station.
 
26-30 March: Off Campus Week in the framework of Konekt.Brussels. Study about, in and with the city. In hotspots and hidden gems. We will shine some light on diversity and plurality, build bridges, connecting cultures, disciplines, sectors and communities.

 

April

 
19 April: Cantus Bruxellensis, mass singing and drinking of VUB and ULB students together. One of the highlights in Belgian student traditions. www.BSGgtgv.be will show you the way in time.
 
24 April: The Strong Student Fun Run. On the Fishmarket, metro station Saint Catherine. An inflatable track of 180 meters long on which you have to outclimb or avoid all kinds of pitfalls, teamwork might be needed. More information on https://www.strongstudentfunrun.com/.

9 May: the one and only 12 hours run. Register to defend the colours of your team.
 
11&12 May: the Zinnekesparade, carnivalesque without any saints, do that Brussels groove thang!
