The VUB’s International Office needs fairy tales and stories to teach children (aged between 6 and 15) Arabic. After any necessary editing, the fairy tales and stories will be translated into Arabic to be used in the class rooms to teach secular Arabic, either in text form, or some will be converted into comics.

The school books currently use four characters: Toni, a European 6 year old boy, his sister Laura who is 4, Sara who is a 6 year old girl from an Arabic background, and her brother Sami who is 12. You do not have to use these characters in your stories or fairy tales, but you can if you want to.

What do we need?

  • Maximum 4 sides of A4
  • In English
  • Submit your story by the latest 1 May 2018

What do you get?

  • Your name will be published alongside the story in the school books (unless you specifically request us you do not want this)
  • An invitation to the class graduation on 5 May 2018 to receive a small gift.

You can submit as many stories as you like, just fill in the form again and upload the next story, and so on.  We will edit the texts as necessary. All copyright will go to VUB International Relations office for the Arabic Language Classes project.
