You are here

Only one address for all your student information: student.vub.be.

The GPS for VUB student life is named STUDENT.VUB. On this student portal you will find how VUB works, what happens on campus and where to go to get help. It contains quick links to a lot of other online information sources and tools. Some of the new toys are the new app ‘MY.TIMETABLE’, the web shop for books and courses and the online course on information skills.

After years of loyal service MY.VUB required an upgrade. The Student Information Hub therefore spent the summer building STUDENT.VUB. This website not only looks more attractive, its structure is more transparent. The goal has been unchanged: offering all information for students on one single spot. The portal embraces other student e-tools, which allows VUB students to rely on one clear starting point at any time. Because the web of digital tools keeps on growing, also at VUB.

new app personalizes timetables

Just to be clear: the good old timetables continue to exist. In the new MY.TIMETABLE app you can compose your personalized timetable and transfer it to your Google or Office 365 calendar. This is extremely useful for students in an individual learning path. The app also serves to test the overlap of optional courses, before actually registering them.

Schedule changes will be synchronised of course, but the app also allows to set up ‘alerts’. It will send a notification whenever something changes in your planning. Please also do check the messages of your professors in PointCarré. When they individually decide to wander off the regular track, the app will not be aware of this. All feedback on user experience stays most welcome during this start-up phase.

Standaard Student Webshop and second hand VUBOOKs

From this academic year all students can order their books and courses online in the Standaard Student Web shop. Orders can be picked up in a delivery point of your choice. Also the second hand market receives a boost by the new student initiative VUBooks.

a ‘Massive open online course’ on information skills

A nice gift by our university library to students, new researchers and the world: the MOOC on Information Skills. Online searches are a daily business, but good online research an art. Anyone dealing with online sources for research purposes should find tips and tricks to do this in a strategic way.

Soon we will also launch a new student job database, which will also adjust the procedure for student jobs at our university. For students and staff student work at VUB will process in a different way. More information will follow soon … on STUDENT.VUB. Stay tuned during the new academic year!
